Dr. Sibani Sarkar’s career was started as a research scholar at Kalyani University after a scholarship was awarded to her by the UGC, Government of India. She was awarded a PhD in March 1997. Following this, postdoctoral research was conducted by her at the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (CSIR) and later at CNCI (ICMR), Government of India. She was granted Research Associate fellowships from various government funding agencies, including DST and two individual ICMR RA projects. Her research was further continued by managing two major Women Scientist projects funded by DST and DHR, Government of India. Currently, her research career is being continued under the WIDUSHI Women Scientist Project funded by DST, Government of India.
